Find, rent, and return equipment, right at your fingertips
Situated along the St. Johns River, The Jacksonville Landing is home to an array of waterfront restaurants, shopping, live entertainment, and other seasonal events. For more than 25 years, The Landing has been a destination for tourists and residents alike, and continues to be one of the most heavily trafficked areas in the city.
When a section of sewer pipe at The Landing needed to be repaired in early 2016, Sunbelt Rentals took the environmental parameters into account, designing and executing an efficient bypass solution with minimal impact to the community.
The bypass took three weeks to set up and included 1,500 feet of 24” HDPE, two 6” pumps for the lateral portion of the bypass, and two 4” pumps for the lining section. Additional equipment included several light towers, a track skid-steer, telescopic forklift, shooting boom, utility vehicle, and a trailer. Nearly 300 ground protection mats were also used as a work area for the equipment, as well as to protect the pavers while installing and dragging the pipe, allowing the Sunbelt ream to keep the site in the same condition as it was found.
The bypass ran seamlessly for three weeks, allowing the sewer rehab contractor to repair the outdated portion of pipe and get the lines back to full functioning order. Afterward, the Sunbelt Rentals team completed teardown, removing all equipment within ten days.
Sunbelt Rentals solution was fully turnkey in nature and tapped resources from multiple divisions, ensuring that all equipment was sourced from one company to simplify the process for the contractor. The setup, execution, and teardown were also unobtrusive, allowing businesses to remain operational and traffic to The Landing unaffected.
