Maintaining an Uninterrupted, Uncontaminated Hospital

The challenge Brasfield & Gorrie faced was needing to ensure patients wouldn’t be disturbed by noise or airborne contaminants during a large hospital renovation. The hospital needed a customized but professional-looking solution, multiple types of equipment delivered in a timely fashion, and most importantly, sound attenuation and airtight barriers that create negative air space to prevent the spread of airborne pathogens.

Finding the Right Temporary Containment Walls for Healthcare

Sunbelt Rentals Temporary Containment Wall experts got to work utilizing STARC wall systems, identifying the correct solution and coordinating timely delivery of wall panels. Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and light can also have a significant impact on the survival of pathogens in the air and on surfaces.

Sunbelt Rentals offers a wide variety of equipment solutions to help you as you work to increase air ventilation, improve air filtration, and maintain temperature and relative humidity setpoints in your building.

Negative air machines were needed to create negative air pressure preventing the spread on containment and improving the air quality of the jobsite. How this works is the negative air machine makes the air pressure inside the contained space lower than the air pressure outside the space. This means that when the door opens potentially contaminated air will not flow outside of the contained space into non-contaminated areas.

The Airtight ICRA Barrier Solution

Navigating a tricky layout, the Sunbelt Rentals team rapidly installed customized containment walls that seamlessly blended into the hospital environment. Our containment panels come in multiple widths to fit all aesthetic and design requirements. Hinged doors, preassembled windows, and accessories solve your biggest containment challenges. And when the hospital asked for additional protection against gaps that could potentially let airborne pathogens out, our team ensured the temporary space was airtight, exceeding Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) Class IV requirements.
